Jackson Birthday #1

Happy Birthday Baby Jackson
You are such a blessing to our family! You bring all of us together and everyone loves you so much!

Jackson:  1 Year old

  • 12 month  Dr. Appointment: Weight: 21.13 pounds 54%  Height: 30 in. 46%   Head: 19 in. 94%
  • He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth...obviously (button battery) but it hasn't gotten any better! It keeps us constantly on our toes making sure everything is picked up off the floor! Can't wait for this stage to be done!!
  • This boy is so fast with crawling! Still hasn't attempted walking but he can cruise!
  • His teeth has taken forever to pop through but when they do it all seems to come all at once!
  • He Loves food! He eats so fast that it is hard to feed him fast enough before he gets upset!
  • Jackson is very talented with making different sounds with his tongue. But it is very difficult to get him to do things on your command...It has to be his idea.
  • Still Very smily all the time and still difficult to get him to laugh but when he does it is so cute!
  • He hates being alone! However as long as you are there he is perfectly content on playing on his own!
  • He loves it when you tilt your head to the side and look at him, he will then do the same back!
  • Jackson is very easy going on the go, which we have been on the go A Lot!
  • He has his routine that he will make most days...pulls up the vents, opens my china cupboard doors, goes to kitchen and pulls out bowls, opens tub-wear drawer and pulls a bunch out, then measuring cups drawer, and lastly the bib drawer to pull those out!  Such a busy boy....my little tornado, but at least he is happy!
  • He is just a busy wiggly boy...Church time is the worst! He is like an alligator and I am its prey! haha
  • Unfortunately we have to hold back on making any progress with his feeding schedule! Still on formula probably for the next month or two and he will need to stay on pureed foods for a long while too!
  • Jackson's birthday party
We went on our family trip to Capital Reef during his birthday so we decided to celebrate it when we got back. We had planned on having grandma/ grandpa and Matt/ Kaitlin there to celebrate with us but their family got the stomach flu so we just did our own little celebration. For his cake we had to stick to something super soft, so I made a banana pudding cake...He absolutely loved it! It was fun watching him go to town on it! Grandma and Grandpa sent his gift to him a few weeks later in the mail...a little baby walker! He loves it but so does his older siblings haha!

    April 2022

April 1st: Catherine got invited to Gracy's birthday party! So fun that Cinderella came! Also it was April Fools Day, so McKay and I made some Brown Es for the family! haha Naturally we made real ones too!

April 2nd-3rd: General Conference weekend!! Kids are slowly getting better at sitting and listening for awhile! In between breaks we went for a walk and McKay desperately had to go potty! haha

April 9th: Chris has been working on the garden but missed the garden bed and hit his leg with the flat head shovel instead! Ouch! He was hurting for quite awhile and had to ice it because it swelled up!

April 11th: Jackson's first hair cut!!! He cried most of the time but we got it done and it looks so good on him! Cute little blonde!

April 13th: For work Little Road Co went to Utah Food Bank for a team activity! Luckily there is Keana, she keeps things fun and lively!

April 14th: Abby is pregnant and really not feeling well! I took Benji off her hands against his will and he was quite upset about it, but cookies fix everything...he was perfectly happy afterwards!

Later on that day was the Easter program for Catherine at school! Loved watching her sing and dance! They all, even McKay got lots of candy at the end!

April 15th: Christine, Abby, and I all met up with our kids at Altitude Trampoline Park. Afterwards we went to In and Out Burger! The kids all had a blast playing together!
That evening Chris took just McKay rock climbing! He absolutely loved it and did a really good job too! He took him to get ice cream afterwards! Perfect daddy and McKay date!

April 16th: Our neighbor invited a bunch of kids from our ward to do a little Easter Egg Hunt in her backyard! It was fun to catch up with those from our ward! Kids enjoyed getting More candy!
That night it was Catherine's turn to go on a daddy date! They also went rock climbing and got ice cream! She did extremely well rock climbing...She would climb to the top with such ease! She is just so naturally athletic in all areas!

April 17th: Happy Easter!!! We invited Matt+Kaitlin and their kids over for coloring eggs, dinner, and easter egg hunt, followed by yard games! We also invited Matt from our ward to join us as well! It was a perfect evening! All the kids had fun and did so well! They had lots of fun playing the bottle frisbee game! Plus they got lots more CANDY!!

April 18th: Spring Break at Capital Reef National Park: Day 1
As soon as we got there we went to the visitors center to look around and use the restrooms. We then made our way to bakery house and got ourselves a pie!! We took that to a little picnic table and started having lunch while waiting for grandma and grandpa to meet up with us! After we had our lunch we started on our first hike that took us along the river to a waterfall! The kids absolutely loved playing in the water!! We loved how there were no other people and loved soaking up the sun!! After the hike we went and checked into our really awesome cabin…the kids loved all the bunk beds!!

April 19th: Spring Break at Capital Reef: Day 2 Hiking Cassidy Arch
Rough hike for little ones but we did it and no one fell off the side of the cliffs! The kids did really well and were super excited about all the different wholes in the rocks!  I loved that hike! Never have I ever been on top of an arch before! I felt like I was on top of the world! But it made Chris super nervous with the drop off cliffs and me being on top of the arch! What a great day that definitely wore us out!

April 20th: Day 3 at capital reef: hiking through some narrows! Lots of rock hunting! Chris found a geode and Catherine found petrified wood! I think we were all feeling pretty tired and ready to be going home! On our drive home we stopped at fish lake for 30 minutes and Kerry caught one fish and Caden caught two massive ones all by himself!! Best Spring break! Best part was being together as a family with grandma and grandpa and being in the outdoors!

April 21st: Happy Birthday Jackson!! We celebrated it a week late but it is all on a separate post!

April 23rd: It was Caden's turn to go on a mommy date! We also went rock climbing and got ice cream! He loved it and also did extremely well! I think we were both feeling tired after that....at least our arms anyway!

April 24th: We went to Day Break Lake to take some pictures of the kids for their birthday photoshoots. I also needed a couple pictures to send to the head track coach for the website! I had a hard time choosing which one to go with but this is what I ended up with!

April 26th: I took McKay for a walk so he could practice riding his bike! He is doing so well! He feels like he has to pedaling the whole time instead of just relaxing, but when I tell him to stop pedaling he pedals backwards which makes it stop! haha so lots of stop and go action here!
Later that day we went and picked up Catherine's bed set from RC Willey! I was so excited to get it all set up before she got home from school to surprise her! She was so excited and loved it!! YAY! Caden went to Sams house after school and Catherine had Grace and Andie come to our house! They all loved her new room so much! Catherine was just full of pure joy! This bed set has been a Very LONG time coming!

April 28th: First day of Gymnastics and Ninja! Both Catherine and McKay loved it so much! We are going to keep doing this for the next couple of months! Catherine naturally did so well on everything...the beams were the worst for her however!

April 29th: I helped Abby out again by watching all of her kids! So glad I can help, it all feels so fresh on my mind of what it is like to have a baby! Fun group of kids!
That night I ran 7 miles on a fun little trail! Had to take a picture to show Chris!

April 30th: I went to the Orem track meet! I had to bring McKay and Catherine with me! They actually did pretty good considering how long they had to endure! Exciting part was that I ran into Mary's soon to be roommate and javelin teammate! I also let Catherine throw a couple Javelins, she was Really good! I have a future javelin star in the making! While I was at the track meet Chris took the other kids to go get his new fishing hat and he also finished the garage project! Looks so good, now we just need to start filming for House2Home!
